What are Turtle Signals?

Turtle Signals is provides buy and sell trading signals for various financial instruments, and are based on the original Turtle Trading system developed by two commodities traders in the early 1980’s – earning over $175 million in only five years. Turtle Signals brings their trading system, and adapts it so anyone can trade the system.

How were the Turtle Trading strategies developed?

The Turtle Trading strategies were developed in the early 1980s by commodities trader Richard Dennis and his business partner, William Eckhardt. The concept arose from a debate between them about whether great traders were born with an innate talent for trading or if they could be taught. To settle this, they decided to conduct an experiment. They placed an ad in the newspaper seeking applicants to train in the art of trading, and from hundreds of responses, they selected 23 individuals, who later became known as the “Turtles.”

Dennis and Eckhardt taught these novices a simple, rule-based trend-following system that used long-term breakout patterns to determine entry and exit points in diverse commodities markets. The strategies were deeply grounded in statistical analysis and managed risk through strict money management techniques. Over the next four years, the Turtles generated over $175 million in profits, proving that successful trading could indeed be taught. The Turtle Trading system has since been considered one of the most famous experiments in financial history, demonstrating the effectiveness of systematic, disciplined trading strategies.

What do I need to start using Turtle Signals?

Once you’ve signed up for the service and start receiving the trading signals from Turtle Signals, you’ll need a way to actually trade — ie. you’ll need a brokerage trading account funded with some initial capital to get you started. The amount required will depend on your broker or trading platform.

How it Works

How often are trading signals sent?

Turtle Signals will send signals as they happen – this was a crucial aspect of the original Turtles trading system. Our crypto signals are scanned every minute, and all other instruments are currently scanned every hour. We’re hoping to have all instruments scanned every minute in the near future.

On which platforms can I receive signals?

Turtle Signals currently sends signals to private channels on the Telegram App. Telegram provides a stable cross-platform method of receiving the signals. You’ll get access to the channels based on the subscription you choose.

What types of financial instruments do your signals cover?

At the moment we provide signals for 30 different cryptocurrencies, and all of the stocks listed in the S&P 500. We’re hoping to add other indices, as well as commodity futures in the near future.

What about futures signals?

Commodity futures will be added soon. We don’t currently have an ETA for this, but sign up for our newsletter and you’ll be the first to know when it happens.

What Cryptocurrencies are currently included in the signals?

At the moment Turtle Signals provides trading signals for 30 common cryptocurrencies. The current list can be found in the Crypto Access subscription details. Data for our crypto signals are provided by ByBit.

There’s lots of signals, how do I know which ones to trade?

This can happen, it even happened to the original Turtle traders. First, it’s important to understand how the trading system works with respect to Unit sizing and maximum units. We cover a fair bit of it in the Turtle Trading System.

Ultimately, you’ll want to trade the signals as they come to you. Add units to the positions as the signals come, and close your positions as the signals tell you to. If you max out your Units or your account, then sit back and wait. This is expected, as there will always be more signals than capital in your account.

Subscriptions and Cost

What does a subscription to Turtle Signals cost?

A Turtle Signals subscription cost will depend on which instruments you want to receive signals for. Currently available subscriptions can be found on the pricing page.

Is there a trial period for new subscribers?

Turtle Signals does not currently offer a free trial period. However, for our monthly subscriptions, we offer a 7 day full refund policy, and a 30 day full refund for annual subscriptions.

How can I cancel my subscription if needed?

Easy. Head to the My Account page and view your subscription details. Click on the cancel button. If you’re within the refund window you’ll be immediately removed from the private Telegram channels associated with the subscription. If you’re cancelling past the refund window, you’ll continue to receive Turtle Signals until the end of the billing period for the subscription.

Technical and Support

What should I do if I’m not receiving signals?

As long as you have access to the private channels you will receive the trading signals. If no signals are coming through, there’s either no trading activity taking place (markets are closed), the market conditions aren’t triggering any signals, or while unlikely, our signal servers may be down. If in doubt, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Who can I contact for more support or detailed questions?

Currently all support or questions can be sent via the contact form on our Contact Us page. We’ll do our best to respond to all messages within 24 to 48 hours.
